CO2 sensors in planar thick film technology are presented. The devices were prepared exclusively by a cost-effective screen-printing technique. They were tested both passively heated and equipped with an additional platinum heater.

The sensors followed the characteristics predicted by the Nernst equation and presented no cross-sensitivity towards oxygen. Good reproducibility and excellent long-term stability were additional promising features of the present sensor system.
