The EAF process is the subject of continuous cost and process improvements and energy models help to benchmark a particular EAF process by accounting for variations in production parameters, such as deviations in raw materials quality and process parameters such as metal yield, oxygen consumption and power-off times. In this study the energy model from S. Köhle is reviewed.
