Abstract in another language

Time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy has been employed to gain information on the nature of optical excitations in conjugated polymers of the PPV type as well as on their dynamics. Both the bathochromic shift of the fluorescence spectra with increasing delay time and the spectrally dependent fluorescence decay support the notion that the elementary excitations are neutral excitons that undergo an incoherent random walk among subunits of the chain with different excitation energies.
