The PhD thesis examines sufficientarianism as a doctrine of distributive justice in theory and practice. In particular, there is a focus on the doctrine’s theoretical foundations in contrast to egalitarianism and prioritarianism and its application in the environment sphere (such as eco-sufficiency and energy policy).
An introductory chapter provides the necessary context and background, summarizes the five Articles' main claims and explains their interrelationship. The Articles are identified with the Roman numerals I to V and follow in this order.

Die Dissertation untersucht den Suffizientarismus sowohl als Theorie der distributiven Gerechtigkeit, als auch im Hinblick auf eine praktische Anwendung. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf den theoretischen Grundlagen der Doktrin in Abgrenzung zu Egalitarismus und Prioritarismus und auf ihren Implikationen für den Umweltbereich (insbesondere Ökosuffizienz und Energiepolitik).
Ein Einleitungskapitel stellt den Forschungskontext dar, fasst die fünf folgenden Artikel und ihre Kernaussagen zusammen und erklärt den Zusammenhang der einzelnen Artikel. Die einzelnen Artikel werden mit den römischen Ziffern I bis V gekennzeichnet und folgen in dieser Reihenfolge.
