Der Beitrag stellt die Ästhetik des Düsseldorfer Schauspielhauses unter Louise Dumont und Gustav Lindemann dar. Besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf die Form der Gemeinschaftsbildung im Ensemble gelegt. Diese trägt insofern esoterische Züge, als sie sich dem Dienst am Dichterwort in besonderer Weise verpflichet fühlt und sich folglich nach außen, etwa gegen Tendenzen der Modernisierung, auch abschottet. Das 'Worttonsprechen' - wie es ein Kritiker einmal nannte - birgt dabei auch Bezüge zur esosterischen und rassisch-völkischen Sprachbetrachtung seiner Zeit.

This paper reveals the esoteric way of thinking, which characterises (among others) the ensemble of the Düsserdorfer Schauspielhaus. In a critical reading of both published papers and unpublished documents from the theatre's archive, the aesthetics of elocution is set in its time and the history of ideas, especially those on the origin of language.
