Dieser Artikel setzt sich mit der Phelan-Ausländer Debatte um die Reproduzierbarkeit der Performance und ihre Liveness auseinander. Es wird ein dritter Weg vorgeschlagen, zwischen der Schnürbodenschau (Auslander) und dem Parkettblick (Phelan) auf die Performance. Der blinde Fleck beider Ansätze: die Technik der Performance selbst, die niemals identisch ist mit der Technologie.

This article comments on the Phelan-Auslander debate on performance's ontology and liveness. It develops a critical perspective on (media)technology as that, which is neither inevitable nor to be accepted as is. Rather, it needs thinking the in-between and absence of its being at disposal.
