Abstract in another language
First we demonstrate the importance of different constraint qualifications for semiinfinite programming problems, penalty methods, and discretization methods for optimization problems in function spaces. Next we point out that all these constraint qualifications are special cases of a general Slater-condition for infinite linear or differentiable optimization problems. Then we prove the validity of this condition for an optimal control problem governed by an equation of evolution, whose control variables occur within initial and boundary conditions.
