Abstract in another language

This chapter deals with gender and deriflection in the Senufo language Syer spoken in southwestern Burkina Faso. Previous descriptions interpret Syer “noun classes” in terms of alliterative alignment of nominal form and agreement. Following the approach developed by Güldemann & Fiedler (2019), the present contribution discusses the two categories gender and deriflection separately, before mapping agreement classes onto nominal form classes.
