Abstract in another language

Abstract in another language

The finite element analysis application Z88Aurora was developed in Germany and is completely free for academic and commercial use. For validation of the mentioned free FEA software, the NAFEMS benchmarks are utilized. Here all tests – with regard to the offered possibilites for definition of boundary conditions, finite element types and computation modes – are performed. In addition, the benchmark results of a commercial state-of-the-art software are considered for comparison. As soon as the entire standards of the benchmark can be implemented, the free simulation software shows very low deviances to the analytical calculated values. It becomes apparent that the free software Z88Aurora and the commercial state-of-the-art software are on a par.
