Abstract in another language

Nowadays a modern product development process includes a lot of different steps during construction and manufacturing. In some steps it is possible to use the aid of modern computer systems and new software products. In the last years a lot of new developments have taken place in the field of process simulations such as welding simulation, polymer processing simulation or deep drawing simulation, which has led to the faster and cost reduced development of new products.
This study shows the decencies of a linear finite element analysis if the material parameters are not easy to supply, not clear or when there is no time to define them precisely. First of all there are a lot of material parameters but in the linear finite element analysis there are only two parameters of importance. The first of these is the Poisson’s ratio; the other the Young’s modulus.
Especially for materials with difficult anisotropic behaviour, such as polymers, the support with reliable test data is very difficult. Furthermore the study takes a look on further simulations during the development process. The dependence of material parameters of part of a welding process simulation is described.
