By combining wireless sensor networks of several standards, one can exploit their specific advantages. For instance, a hybrid network might consist of NanoNet for energy-autarkic sensor nodes with a WLAN backbone to connect the NanoNet master nodes. We investigated interactions in a demonstrator network and show the feasibility of such a concept from the standpoint of interference robustness.
