Abstract in another language
An increased switching speed is one of the most important aims in the development of modern power semiconductors. This evolution is a challenge for the power electronics engineer regarding the necessary current measurement technologies. High current gradients require measuring methods with a high bandwidth without increasing the leakage inductance in the circuit. Higher voltage gradients influence the current measurement methods because of the unavoidable parasitic capacitances, an effect which can ruin every measurement. In this paper, different approaches are presented, which allow to measure the current flow of extremely fast switching IGBTs with low additional inductance and high bandwidth. Furthermore, a concept for a new generation of Rogowski coils is presented which are resistant to capacitive coupling without reducing the bandwidth by using a shielding.
