In this paper, the authors will pr esent the state of the art about product and process assessment for
remanufacturing of computer controlled automotive components (mechatronics) – by giving an insight into
their current research activities in the area, including theoretical analyses, field studies in the car electronic
remanufacturing industry, contract research fo r professional car mechatronic remanufacturers,
experimental work in the laboratories of the Chair of Manufacturing and Remanufacturing Technology at
the University of Bayreuth.
