Ceropegia sandersonii flowers lure and trap carnivorous fliesfor pollination. The flowers emit volatiles also released by honeybees signaling distress. Pollinating flies use such volatiles to locate bees under attack as a food source. The flowers are a chemical mimic of a food source of adult carnivorous flies.
