Abstract in another language
In this article implicit direct time integration schemes are reviewed which can effectively be used in linear and nonlinear structural dynamics. To compare conventional one-step methods of commercial and open source computer-aided engineering software, the two substeps composite Bathe method with equal step size was applied. It showed characteristics in having low numerical dissipation and dispersion.
Noticeable differences in numerical energy dissipation have been displayed in the Hilber- Hughes-Taylor operator applications according to the parameter setting of α. Furthermore, a higher-dissipative and strong convergence behaviour was exhibited by using the backward Euler method.
