Die gestiegene Bedeutung, die immateriellen Werten zukommt, stellt die interne und externe Berichterstattung von Unternehmen vor neue Herausforderungen. Um die Bilanzadressaten über den Stand und die Entwicklung von nicht bilanziell aktivierbaren immateriellen Werten zu informieren, entwickelte der Arbeitskreis einen Vorschlag, wie eine freiwillige ergänzende Berichterstattung gestaltet werden könnte, die auch nicht aktivierbare immaterielle Werte umfasst.
