Abstract in another language
The Metal Fused Filament process enables the possibility to manufacture full metal parts with the aid of the principle of Fused Deposition Modeling. It is suitable to decrease the investment costs for entering the field of metal additive manufacturing crucially, which can potentially change this area of additive manufacturing to a large extent. In this paper, recommendations for design guidelines and component manufacture are made based on the consideration of the process chain. In comparison with powder bed processes, the potential of the Metal Fused Filament process is worked out and it is shown that the process represents a promising alternative to powder bed based processes in many areas.
