Abstract in another language
The paper focuses on the 12 preserved cantatas (D-Dl Mus. 2170-J-1), which the Vice-Kapellmeister of the Imperial court Antonio Caldara composed for the Saxonian Electoral Prince Frederic August II. in 1719. With the help of several Viennese court sources, the author succeeded in dating the cantatas and identifying the scribe of the dedication to the Prince. The music analysis shows, that these cantatas are closer to the cantatas, that Caldara composed in his Roman times (1709–1716) for Prince Francesco Maria Ruspoli than they are to his cantata repertoire for the Imperial court.
