Welchen Einfluss hat die Zahl der Abgeordneten pro Wahlkreis auf die Allokation von öffentlichen Mitteln? Die ökonomische Theorie geht davon aus, dass sich Abgeordnete rational verhalten und auf Wahl- sowie Wiederwahlanreize reagieren. Sie setzen sich für durch Bundesmittel finanzierte öffentliche Leistungen oder auch für zusätzliche Bundesbeschäftige in ihrem Wahlkreis ein. Deshalb können mehr Abgeordnete pro Wahlkreis zu höheren Bundesausgaben für ihren Wahlkreis führen.
