Seit Januar dieses Jahres enthält das Gesetz gegen Wettbewerbsbeschränkungen eine neue Regelung. Die Fusionskontrolle soll demnach – an bestimmte Bedingungen geknüpft – ausgesetzt werden. Klinikfusionen sind freigegeben, wenn sie mit einer Maßnahme aus dem Krankenhausstrukturfonds gekoppelt sind. Damit erhalten die Bundesländer mit ihrer Strukturplanung eine wichtige Rolle.
