Abstract in another language

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters are small, rugged, and crystal stable. They can be fabricated with high reproducibility. Today more than a hundred million SAW TV IF filters are fabricated each year. SAW filters play a key role in the rapidly growing market of mobile communication systems and are used for channel filtering as well as for RF filtering. For these modern communication systems novel types of SAW filters are being developed in order to meet the stringent requirements with respect to very low insertion attenuation, high relative bandwidths and good stopband rejection properties.
