Abstract

The object of this chapter is to discuss the nature of anti-colonial movements in the Middle East region throughout the late eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries up to present times. The aim is to unearth the roots and ideological Fundaments of such movements. This also to analyse continuities and ruptures as well as the ambiguites of the relationships between anti-colonlal movements, state-building processes and the outside world, Europe in particular
