Agentische künstliche Intelligenz (KI) verändert die Grundlogik des Prozessmanagements: Prozesse müssen künftig nicht mehr ausschließlich als feste Schrittfolgen modelliert werden, sondern zunehmend als kontrollierte Handlungsräume, die durch Ziele, Kontext, zulässige Handlungsmöglichkeiten und verbindliche Leitplanken definiert sind. Dieses Whitepaper zeigt, warum deklaratives Prozessmanagement durch KI-Agenten praktisch relevant wird, weshalb imperative Prozessmodelle als Governance-Gerüst weiterhin unverzichtbar bleiben und warum die Zukunft in hybriden Prozessarchitekturen liegt. Auf Basis von vier Thesen werden neue Rollenbilder, Entscheidungsdimensionen und Handlungsfelder für Unternehmen abgeleitet. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie Organisationen Agentenautonomie produktiv nutzen können, ohne Transparenz, Compliance, Verantwortlichkeit und Auditierbarkeit zu verlieren.
