Global warming is directly impacting human health. Forexample, extreme weatherevents (such as heat waves) arereaching new dimensions. In additionto such direct meteorologicallyinduced stress situations, organismscan respond to shifts in climaticconditions in a variety of ways (e.g.activity, phenology, reproduction,productivity, pollen production)(Beierkuhnlein & Foken 2008).
