Abstract in another language

This paper presents a new concept for HVDC tapping applications based on a resonant cascade DC/DC converter. The scalable DC/DC converter is characterized by soft switching condition for all switches and diodes. Furthermore a continuous current load for all half bridge modules offers a good utilization of the installed semiconductors. The paper starts with a demonstration of the converter's structure and its fundamental functionality.
For the validation of the operation principle a simulation of the DC/DC converter is done. This is followed by a loss calculation and some considerations about the converter design for tapping in HVDC systems. Finally, some thoughts on the passive components are given.
