Die empirische Forschungsliteratur, die sich mit den Folgen der Implementierung von DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups) in Deutschland beschäftigt, wird in Hinblick auf die bislang kaum beachtete Patientensicht analysiert. Dabei zeigt sich, dass psychosoziale Aspekte – wie z. B. die Arzt-Patient-Beziehung – eine zentrale Rolle in der Wahrnehmung der Versorgungsqualität einnehmen. Monetäre Anreizsysteme wie z. B. Fallpauschalen setzen die traditionellen Parameter in der medizinischen Behandlung also nicht außer Kraft, sondern lassen diese noch sichtbarer werden. Deshalb wird dafür plädiert, dem DRG-System mit einer Haltung der Gelassenheit zu begegnen und verstärkt auf die heilende Kraft der Begegnung zu setzen.

Abstract
Empirical research focusing on the effects of the implementation of DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups) in Germany will be analyzed particularly with regard to the often neglected patient’s point of view. Studies show that psychosocial aspects – e. g. the doctor-patient-relationship – are crucial for the patient’s perception of the quality of medical care. Monetary incentive systems like case-based lump sums thus do not suspend the traditional parameters of medical treatment but rather reveal their increasing importance. Therefore the authors argue for adopting an attitude of serenity towards the DRG-system and for emphasizing the healing power of interpersonal contact
