Corporate strategies, as well as available tools and methods, influence the need for performance management (PM) and its ability to support management and controlling. So far, the picture is that the PM of on-site processes in industrialised housebuilding (IHB) is difficult due to the lack of suitable methods and tools. Potentially interesting role models for PM from practice have not been sufficiently addressed through empirical research. This research aims to report on and analyse the performance management system of specific IHB companies with different strategic orientations. Similarities, differences and difficulties in information feedback, the current data collection and analysis as well as the assessment of performance need to be evaluated. For this purpose, a multiple case study within the IHB sector in Central Europe is conducted, analysing eight cases. During the analysis, different approaches in assessing and managing on-site performance linked with specific corporate strategies are identified. These models present characteristics of corporate strategies influence on the development of the PMS. The presented analysis provides the opportunity to benchmark existing performance management systems and look for potential improvements.
