Abstract

In today's dynamic and competitive business environment, fostering innovation at the individual level is crucial for organizational success. This paper delves into the essential competencies required to cultivate innovation competencies in individuals, drawing upon a systematic literature review. Nine overarching categories of innovation competencies are identified and synthesized into a comprehensive framework, the "Periodic System for Innovation Competencies" (PSIC). A thorough analysis of each identified competency is provided, highlighting their contributions to fostering innovation. The findings of this study offer valuable theoretical insights and practical implications for enhancing innovation capabilities at the individual level.
