Abstract
Highly efficient perovskite solar cells require a high-quality perovskite film, which is in most cases achieved through a solution-based solvent engineering spin coating approach. Here, crystallization is induced by dispensing an antisolvent onto the precursor solution film after a specific spinning time. Process parameters like spin speed and timing of antisolvent dispensing are usually developed empirically and vary between labs in order to obtain optimized films. To address this issue, we developed a closed-loop feedback system based on our multimodal optical in-situ spin coater system in combination with realtime analysis of the optical spectra duringspin coating. We optically monitor the precursor solution film thickness as the parameter of interest and induce crystallization as soon as it reaches a certain target level, by doing so, we obtain a constant film quality over a wide range of different spin speeds, without manually adapting the processing parameters. This demonstrates that this method is capable of counteracting the effects of uncontrolled parameters, like variation in solvent evaporation rate due to atmospheric changes, thus leading to reproducible film quality.
