Abstract in another language

The pulsed polarization technique can be used for selective NOx sensing in the low ppm range with both conventional thimble type lambda probes and planar Pt electrodes on YSZ. The sensitivity is explained by electrochemical reactions taking place at polarized Pt electrodes on YSZ. In contrast to other exhaust gases, NOx is special regarding the thermodynamic equilibrium at a temperature range of about 400 °C, which yields a high selectivity using this dynamic measurement technique on Pt | YSZ.
