Abstract in another language

Single crystals of synthetic fluoro tainiolite Cs1[Fe2Li1]<Si4>O10F2 were compared with crystals that have been pillared by cation exchange applying N,N-dimethyl-1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (Me2DABCO2+)0.22[Fe1.852+/3+Li0.9, 0.25]<Si4>O10F2. Crystals of both compounds were mounted on planar gold electrodes to measure the influences of different gases (CO, NO, NH3, H2, C3H8) on the conductivity σ. These materials have σ in the range of semiconductors. The pillared, microporous compound indeed showed an increased sensitivity for different gases as compared to dense non-pillared Cs-tainiolite.
