Abstract in another language

The Na+ ion conducting zeolite Na-ZSM-5 is used as a novel sensitive material in a potentiometric gas sensor with Au as sensing electrode and a NaxCoO2 reference electrode. At 723 K, fast voltage response to CH4, C2H6, C3H8, and n-C4H10 was found in O2/CO2/N2. Sensitivities of 65-145 mV/decade were observed in voltage vs. log(p) plots. A mechanism based on sorption of the alkane gases in zeolite micropores is discussed.
