Zeolites for Resistive Gas Sensors - a Brief Overview.

Event: The 6th East Asian Conference on Chemical Sensors (EACCS 6) , 2005 , Guilin, China.

Abstract in another language

Due to their unique properties, zeolites can be used either as passive filters to greatly enhance selectivity or as very selective sensor materials. Three application modes are discussed in this contribution: zeolites as cover layers for hydrocarbon sensors, zeolites as sensitive materials for ammonia sensors, and a novel combination of metal oxides with zeolites leading to a very selective hydrocarbon sensor. In the latter application, it is shown that the interface chromium oxide / zeolite plays an essential role.
