Abstract in another language

Although it is highly desirable to detect directly hydrocarbons in exhaust gases for future on-board-diagnostics, conventional zirconia lambda probes monitor only the oxygen activity, due to their catalytically active electrodes. HC-sensor based on SrTiO3 thick films are less catalytic active and are able to detect HC down to 10ppm. Both sensor types are tested in laboratory exhaust gases with converters. Implications for catalyst monitoring are investigated.
