Abstract in another language
The development of a selective ammonia exhaust gas sensor is presented, which meets all the technological and economic demands of the automotive industry. As gas-sensitive material H-Form ZSM5 zeolites with a defined pore structure have been used. The selective and concentration dependent interaction of the mobile protons with ammonia, i.e. the resulting change in proton mobility, is detected directly by means of impedance spectroscopy. The sensor development based on the quantitative picture for translational proton motion in zeolites, deduced from experimental and theoretical work. The model provides a detailed understanding of the influencing variables, e.g. temperature, type and composition of the zeolite structure and concentration of the guest molecules, respectively.
