Abstract in another language
In this paper, we examine and discuss the role of dissipativity in economic model predictive control (MPC). We review some recent results relating dissipativity with the concept of optimal steady-state operation, and we show that strict dissipativity is necessary and sufficient for a slightly stronger property than optimal steady-state operation. We discuss the importance of this result for giving closed-loop performance guarantees in economic MPC. Furthermore, we present extensions for the case of optimal periodic operation.
