Abstract in another language

The integration of a temperature independent resistive oxygen sensor in thick-film technology on flexible steel substrates is demonstrated. The sensor itself consists of interdigitated electrodes covered by a film of strontium-titanate-ferrate, a well-known temperature independent resistive oxygen sensor material. The key challenge is the electrical insulation layer between the flexible steel foil and the electrode structure of the sensing device, which is realized with a dielectric thick film. The measured sensor characteristics in dependence on the oxygen concentration provide a temperature independent behavior between 700 and 800 °C and the achieved sensitivity values agree well with literature. It has been proved that the integration of sensors on flexible steel substrates is feasible.
