In dem Fotografie Projekt „Dein Bild – Mein Bild“ haben Studierende des Staatsinstituts für Fachlehrer in Bayreuth Fotos aus Afrika mit ihrer Kamera re-inszeniert. Die Ergebnisse dieses Workshops werden ab
dem 9. Oktober 2018 im Rahmen einer Ausstellung in der Lounge der Zentralbibliothek der Universität Bayreuth zu sehen sein.

Die Ausgangsfotos für dieses etwas ungewöhnliche Experiment stammen von der Instagram Seite @everydayafrica. Die Fotografien von Everyday Africa wollen den Alltag des vielschichtigen Kontinents zeigen und damit die Stereotypen, die die Geschichten aus und über Afrika dominieren, bekämpfen. Die Auseinandersetzung mit den Bildern von @everydayafrica gab den Studierenden Raum, einen etwas anderen Blick auf den Kontinent zu bekommen. Daraus sind Bilder aus dem eigenen Alltag entstanden, die den Bildern aus Afrika auf Augenhöhe begegnen wollen.

Das Projekt wurde im Rahmen der Bayreuth Academy (BAAAS) Working Group „Learning for the future – transdisciplinary perspectives on knowledge transmission in Africa and beyond“ an der Universität Bayreuth durchgeführt.

The photo-project “Your Photograph – My Photograph” worked with students who are in training to become high school teachers. It was inspired by the Instagram page @everydayafrica. The project was part of the working group “Learning for the Future – Transdisciplinary Perspectives on Knowledge Transmission in Africa and beyond” at the Bayreuth Academy, University of Bayreuth. It was organized in cooperation with the institute for special subject teachers in Bayreuth (Institut für Fachlehrer, IFL). The students were asked to choose photographs from the Instagram page @everydayafrica and to rearrange one or two of these photos in view of personal associations with their subject. In doing so, the students were motivated to think about similarities between their own everyday-lives and the ones of those who took the initial photos.

With its practical approach, the project aimed to find a way to challenge images and representations (of someone and something) without using the usual academic roads of knowledge transmission and exchange. In this regard, to work with future teachers, was meant to build multipliers who could use their experience for future classes with their own students. It is still an open question, how much and in what sense such a way can be valuable not only outside, but also inside the academic field.
The results of this project are displayed at the Central-Library of the University of Bayreuth.
