Abstract in another language
Planar interdigital electrodes (IDE) on alumina were made from separately screen-printed combstructures with different metals and subsequent laser-patterning. A Pt-loaded zeolite (Pt-ZSM-5) covers the IDE area. Such setup responds selectively to hydrogen at higher temperatures. The functional zeolite thick-film acts both as ion-bridge and catalytic filter. To separate the cross-linked effects of sensitivity attributed to the electrode interface and selectivity coming presumably from catalytic activity, three different sensor configurations were tested. The selectivity was found to be a consequence of Pt-loading, but Pt plays no role in the sensor mechanism.
