A worldwide spread of the participation of countries in international large-scale student assessment tools (e.g. PISA) can be observed and likewise at the local level, the number of national, regional and private assessment tools increases. This project aims to investigate the global relationships between actors and to explore transformations that occur at the local level. Within this presentation the assumption that there is a globalization of standards and frameworks of evaluation shall be examined. This will be done by literature review and analysis of empirical data collected so far. Two ideas are dealt with in this paper. First, the idea of a globalization of standards and second, the idea of globalization of frameworks of evaluation or assessment. The argument that is made here is that local assessment tools are reshaped through the process of participating at international large-scale assessment tests (e.g. PISA).
