The Christian-Verlag felt very much indebted to the re-education policy and published a number of books of prominent American resp. German-American psychologists,
among them Arnold Gesell (1880–1961) and Frances L. Ilg (1902–1981), Gordon W. Allport (1897–1967), Kurt Lewin (1890–1947) and Raymond A. Bauer (1916–1977). They
all will be discussed, but particular focus will be put on Bauer’s monograph The New Man in Soviet Psychology and its specific contribution to re-education and transatlantic learning.
