Abstract in another language
Socio-political decisions and visions about collective futures tend to systematically sideline those who will inherit consequences of what present adult generations in power determine. Children and childhood seldom make it to the forefront of political agenda, even though adults claim to love their children. This workshop aims to introduce its participants to childism in order to discuss the notion of citizenship and rights in the light of childhood in Africa. As a shared reference for discussion the workshop will focus on Agenda 2063 of the African Union and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.
